Launch of the State of the Coral Triangle Reports
Location: Sebel Bluewater, Cairns, Australia.
Members of the Coral Triangle Initiative on Coral Reefs, Fisheries and Food Security will launch the State of the Coral Triangle Reports (SCTR) during the 12th International Coral Reef Symposium (ICRS).
Representatives of the SCTR writing teams will present highlights of their work during a symposia entitled Science and Governance in the Global Center of Marine Biodiversity. The Asian Development Bank’s Knowledge Management Project (KM 4 CTI) will convene the session which will gather members of the Regional Secretariat, the six CT countries, and development partners, among others.
The SCTR is a living document that can serve as a benchmark for the six Coral Triangle countries in monitoring and evaluating their progress vis a vis the National and Regional Plans of Action.
The report will cover the status of critical ecosystem, species, resources, threats, and progress towards the CTI goals and targets.
The SCTR is unique because it builds an engagement process with
CTI stakeholders and serves as a forum to strengthen communication of science and policy.
