Ministerial Meeting Of Coral Triangle Initiative Will Address Issues Facing Region

KUALA LUMPUR, Nov 26 (Bernama) -- The Fourth Ministerial Meeting (MM4) of the Coral Triangle Initiative on Coral Reefs, Fisheries and Food Security (CTI-CFF) here from Nov 22-26, will deliver new and innovative ideas, tools, modalities and recommendations in addressing issues facing the region.

These include strategies on CTI Sustainable Financing and Communication, criteria development for admission of new partners and a transitional and operational plan for the regional secretariat.

The CTI-CFF comprises Malaysia, Indonesia, Papua New Guinea, THE Philippines, Timor-Leste and Solomon Islands.

The CTI-CFF Council of Ministers (CTI-COM) is chaired by Malaysia's Minister of Science, Technology and Innovation (MOSTI), Datuk Seri Maximus Johnity Ongkili.

In a statement Monday, MOSTI said the MM4 will be held together with the 8th Coral Triangle Initiative-Coral Reefs Fisheries and Food Security (CT-CFF) Senior Officials Meeting (SOM8).
