The project aims to collect oceanographic and off-shore fisheries stock assessment in a systematic manner in order to yield baseline information as a base for fisheries policy development, including vessel licensing policy and  to enhance the capacity of staff to plan for and design of long term oceanographic and off-shore stock assessment.

There is currently no comprehensive legislation on coastal management or marine resource conservation in Timor-Leste. Subsidiary law from Indonesian law are applied in the meanwhile. At the moment, a national park has already been established (with significant marine resource protection) and several marine protected areas are in preparation.

The project aims to draft and finalize regulation on the functions, management, and disbursement procedure of the Marine Development Fund.The Strategic Approach/Methodology: Drafting of the regulation must take into account previous experiences in disbursement of micro credit in Timor-Leste, and at least one of the experts involved must have had incountry experience of at least three years. The Ministry of Agriculture and Fisheries will supervise the processand conduct consultations with the Ministry of Planning and Finance.

The project aims to bring a sustainability perspective to the generation of financial resources for the implementation of the Philippines’ CTI-‐ CFF National Plan of Action. Specifically, the proposal aims to

The proposed Project will design a site-based PES application in one of the coastal municipality in the Philippines. The selection of the municipality will consider the presence of a resort that caters mainly to upscale tourists. The area must showcase ecosystem services which can be “bought” and “sold” on site. These ecosystem services include: aesthetics, recreational enjoyment, and beauty of the place. The management of the municipal waters is with the municipal government, which is by virtue of the Philippines-Fisheries Code and the Local Government Code.
